W. Eric Medlin
Attorney at Law
I had the great opportunity to be raised in a U.S. Navy family then attend the University of Florida (B.S. in Geology, 1980) and University of Wyoming (M.S. in Geology/Geophysics, 1983). After working in the environmental consulting industry, I earned my law degree from the University of Pittsburgh (1993) and worked as a project manager for several environmental remediation companies.
In 1997, my family and I moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Greensboro, North Carolina and I later became the in-house counsel for another environmental remediation company. In 2002, another talented attorney and I started a law firm that thrived for ten years.
Besides practicing business law with Medlin Townsend, PLLC, I am a Volunteer Guardian ad Litem for neglected and abused children. I also volunteer as a swim instructor and try to keep up with my age group in triathlons.
J. Murphy Townsend
Attorney at Law
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the North Carolina mountains in 1996 to attend Appalachian State University where I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English (2000, 2005). After my time in the mountains, I taught Academic Writing at North Carolina State University and at Elon University before earning my law degree from Elon University School of Law (2014).
In 2015, I started my own law practice, focusing on Criminal Defense, Traffic Cases, and Civil Matters in Greensboro, High Point and the surrounding counties.
When I’m not practicing law with the Medlin Townsend, PLLC, I am fulfilled by spending time with my family, backpacking, camping, cycling, and fishing.
I was born in Cali, Colombia and spent my early years surrounded by a loving family and friends in beautiful South America. With my family, I had the opportunity to live in Florida, New York, and then Massachusetts.
While I was working towards a degree in Criminal Justice, I worked for several different types of businesses in the northeastern United States including law offices and a bankruptcy trustee. To me, one of the most important jobs I’ve had is working with school children going through criminal proceedings such as gang involvement and drug violations.
In 2014, I moved to North Carolina and am enjoying the people and natural beauty. When I’m not working as the Office Manager for Medlin Townsend, PLLC, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, and speed sports.
